Referrals include; domestic violence, employment preparation, and GED preparation. Referrals are also given for dental services and eyeglasses or other services as indicated. Hardin House is staffed by one full time salaried Credentialed House Manager, and one full time live-in Assistant Manager. Residents are also cared for by a team of treatment and mental health professionals at our sister program, Drexel Counseling Services, Inc. Chicago, Ill 60619.
Born in 2007 out of the need for temporary homeless services for men returning from prison, Hardin House for men provides a continuum of services that help individuals locate programs for managing parole stipulations, including electronic monitoring services, substance use disorder counseling and life skills programs in the greater Chicago area.
Each resident’s decision to live in our program requires balancing community safety and offender rehabilitation goals with our client’s need for a structured living environment that supports recovery from alcohol and other drug use and/or criminal behavior. With the guided assistance of one of our Counselors, many of them with CADC certification, together we build a Patient Centered Plan with our returning male clients designed to make re-entry successful and the importance of eliminating recidivism forever.
Hardin House for men is approved for our clients who meet prison-release eligibility requirements but who do not have an available residence and for parolees who become displaced.
